AutoXotica Supercar Club Highlights
With an ever-expanding fleet and a steady stream of celebrity guests passing through the doors of our supercar club, 2018 was another fantastic year for AutoXotica. So we thought we’d share some of the highlights with you.
New Additions to the fleet
The obvious place to start with a supercar club, is the supercars themselves. Throughout the course of 2018, our already impressive fleet continued to expand and improve, ensuring that our members can always find a car to suit their taste.
Lamborghini Huracán Spyder
Whilst Lamborghini may brand the Huracán Spyder drop-top stunner as a “lifestyle” vehicle, it more than holds its own on track. That’s thanks to the 5.2 litre V10 engine that produces peak power of 603bhp, all of which runs through a seven-speed twin clutch gearbox and is sent to all four wheels; leading to a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 201mph.
Bentley Continental GT
The Bentley Continental GT coupe is everything you’d expect from a quintessential British grand tourer. Thanks to its combination of space, luxury refinement and performance, it finds itself almost without rivals.
Despite a rather hefty and imposing stance, the Bentley Continental GT still provides outstanding performance, with even the entry-level V8 able to break 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds. Despite its size and speed, the Continental GT has surprising composure when put through its paces. With its unbeatable grip levels and unmatched ride quality, this is a car for traversing continents in complete comfort and style.
The second generation Nissan GT-R is an astonishing car packed with tech that offers exactly the kind of visceral, sensory experience you’d expect from high powered sports cars. Each GT-R engine is handcrafted by Nissan’s master technicians and produces 565bhp from its twin-turbocharged, 24 valve power unit. The 0-60mph sprint is completed in a mind-blowing 2.7 seconds, placing the Nissan GT-R very firmly in the acceleration hall of fame.
To help deliver all of its power to the road, the GT-R has arguably the smartest four wheel sports car. It’s also more comfortable and refined than ever, making it one of the great all rounders in the supercar class.
Celebrities at the supercar club
At AutoXotica it’s not just the fleet that’s star studded, so too are the guests. We’ve had up-and-coming racers, SAS legends and YouTube superstars all passing through our Donington Park headquarters to get taste of the unique experience that is an AutoXotica membership.
Former SAS member Ant Middleton is a self confessed adrenaline junkie who likes “to be constantly tested”. But as Chief Instructor on the popular TV show ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’, Ant is often the one doing the testing. And that’s exactly what he did when Ant Middleton visited AutoXotica, undertaking a personalised driving experience that allowed him to explore a variety of different supercars.
Once he’d put the vehicles through their paces and made the most of the AutoXotica experience - which he described as a “Fantastic setup” - Middleton couldn’t help but be drawn to the Porsche 911 GT3.
When AutoXotica Managing Director Kevin Burns watched Enaam Ahmed announce himself to the world from the HQ’s trackside viewing platform at Donington Park, it’s safe to say he was impressed. At just 17 years old, Ahmed had made motorsport history during the final race of the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, becoming the series’ youngest ever champion.
As a young dynamic race driver, Ahmed was the perfect candidate to become a brand ambassador for AutoXotica, a role he took up soon after. Ahmed says, “I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. The AutoXotica team is great, very efficient and clean cut and it’s a real pleasure working with the guys.” It also helps that Ahmed’s favourite supercar, the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder is a part of our fleet.
Outside of the Grand Tour, YouTube is the best place for finding the greatest car content and Tim Burton, a.k.a Shmee150, with his worldwide legion of fans, is one of the platform’s biggest stars. Shmee has been making engaging car content for petrolheads for a number of years, so it was a real treat to have him feature AX on his channel.
When Shmee visited AutoXotica in November, he was able to compose his ultimate back-to-back supercar showdown. Comprising four of the world’s greatest supercars: the Ferrari 488 Spider, the McLaren 570S, the Lamborghini Huràcan Spyder and the Porsche 911 GT3. It provided Shmee with the rare chance to pit each car against each other on the same road, in the same conditions.
What to expect in 2019
The world of supercars doesn’t stand still, with manufacturers always striving to improve designs and technology. AutoXotica is no different. We’re always looking for ways to improve and keep our members satisfied with new cars and new special driving experiences. So there’s plenty to look forward to in 2019.
Extending the fleet
We’re always striving to improve and expand our fleet, so you can be sure to see more variety in our garage in 2019. Should we get another sports GT car to rival the Bentley Continental and Aston Martin Vanquish? A stunning new drop top to compete with the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder? Or a precision track monster to take on the Porsche 911 GT3? Let us know which vehicles you think we should add in the comments section below.
